Dear Ndi Anambra,
The 2023 Nigeria General Election will begin in just a few hours. Once again, we are presented with the opportunity to decide our faith as a Country, as a Nation, and as a People. Participating in this election is more than just a civic duty, it is a responsibility and a burden we owe to ourselves and our future generations.
In so many ways, this election will reflect our journey as a people. Have we objectively scrutinized the candidates based on proven capacity, a record of accomplishments, and a detailed and implementable manifesto to guide the next stage of our Nationhood? Of importance is also a Candidate of accountable character, and above all, the determination to succeed against all odds in rescuing our great country.
These are my criteria and I encourage you to reflect on your standard in choosing a candidate.
As the Head of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), it is my responsibility to ensure that our State continues to attract investors and promote economic growth. To fulfill this mandate, I believe that one of the most important ways we can contribute to the development of our State is by exercising our right to vote and voting for the right Candidate.
I understand that some of us may be disillusioned with politics or may feel that our vote does not matter. But I want to remind you that every vote counts. Your voice matters and your participation in this election could make a significant difference in the future of our Country.
So, I implore you to take the time to research the candidates, their policies, and their track records. Consider what matters most to you and make an informed decision on Election Day. Do not be blinded by sentiments, public opinion, tribal or religious bias, but cast your vote in a manner that is true to you.
Although the focus is mainly on the presidential elections, remember you have to vote for the members of the National Assembly also. The Senate House and the House of Representatives in so many ways are the engine behind the State of Affairs in the Country. Not only are they responsible for the laws binding over 250 million Nigerians, but they are also the most influential checks we have on the executive arm of Government.
Nigerians will speak up with their PVCs tomorrow. This will be a great time to be part of that crowd.
Stand up.
Take responsibility.
Choose your future.
Vote.
Best regards,
Mark Okoye,
MD/CEO
