The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) earlier this year constituted a committee on waste management to tackle the waste problem threatening the State. In fulfillment of the given mandate, the committee will make its final presentation to the Executive Council next Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
In the past month, the committee paid a peer review visit to study the waste management model adopted by the Lagos Government, conducted an investigative tour of all dumpsites and waste flashpoints in Anambra state and reviewed proposals from potential investors interested in the waste management sector.
The final report is expected to provide a short and long-term plan that will shape the State’s intervention in the Waste Management sector. The document will assist in the implementation of policies transforming the State into a clean and livable city.
