It’s less than six (6) weeks to the Anambra Investment Summit.
Invitations are still going out, tickets will soon be released, the planning is reaching its final stages and a team of exhausted staff have completely given up on sleep.
However, as always, we are here to give you an update on our activities and maybe solicit your support for the Summit.
So let’s get to it.
On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR had an interactive session with Ndi Anambra resident in Abuja. The aim of this session was to bring together stakeholders in the Federal Government's civil service, business leaders, and donor community to discuss potential opportunities available in the State.
The session allowed Mr. Governor provide a detailed account of his last 16 months in office, and take feedback from the people. He explained his achievements across various sectors and highlighted the plethora of investment opportunities the State presents to the private sector.
He further explained the necessity for a stronger relationship between the State and its people at the nation's Capital, calling on Ndi Anambra to be alert to opportunities available within Federal MDAs and the donor community that can support the State's transformation agenda.
To fully utilize our time in Abuja, ANSIPPA met with some development partners as part of its commitment to attracting strategic partnerships that can expedite the execution of key infrastructure projects to catalyze Anambra’s fourth industrial revolution.
In a meeting with the World Bank, the Managing Director, Mark Okoye presented the concept note on flagship projects the State is developing, requesting technical assistance with project development and execution, especially as the Agency expands into Anambra Development and Investment Corporation (ADIC).
Reacting, the World Bank assured the ANSIPPA team of their interest in assisting the Agency with technical assistance, especially with the development of industrial parks and Special Economic Zones.
Still pursuing strategic partnerships, ANSIPPA met with the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Matthias Schmale to explore a potential partnership with ADIC.
Mark Okoye explained the new Corporation’s mandate and the plan to develop an expanded public-private partnership framework that aligns with global Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments which will guide the State’s engagement with the private sector.
Furthermore, the team met with the Tony Blair Institute of Global Change (TBI) as a follow-up to the existing partnership between the Institute and Anambra State.
TBI is currently assisting the State to develop a framework to direct the execution of programs, projects, and policies that fulfills the transformation agenda as stated in the People’s Manifesto.
To round up our trip, we met with China Habour Engineering Company, an attendee of the Governor's Town hall meeting, to discuss their interest in dredging the River Niger along with other infrastructure projects in the State.
China Habour is an engineering contractor and a subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company, that focuses on providing infrastructure construction, with expertise in marine engineering, dredging, and reclamation, road and bridge construction, etc.
As this is a developing story, more details will be in our subsequent newsletters.
With that, our trip came to an end.
We returned to continue the planning of our Investment Summit.
Now to discuss partnership and sponsorships
